HR Certification Path

Contact, and who to ask instead

HR Certification Path has no inbox, no phone line and no office to write to. We are a study site, so we can’t accept an application, move an appointment, refund a fee, explain a score or renew a credential. Below is who can, for each body, and what to do if something on a page looks wrong.

HRCI exams: aPHR, PHR, SPHR

  • Application, eligibility, audit, extensions: the HR Certification Institute, through your account on hrci.org; the rules are in its certification handbook.
  • Appointments and test-day problems: Pearson VUE, which runs both the test centers and the OnVUE online sessions; you book once your application is approved.
  • Results and appeals: the institute; a failed result can be appealed with a Request for Reconsideration (the deadline is in the handbook).
  • Renewal: the institute again (recertification handbook).

SHRM exams: SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP

  • Application, eligibility, audit, window transfers: the Society for Human Resource Management, through its certification portal; the rules are in the 2026 SHRM handbook.
  • Appointments and test-day problems: Prometric, once your Authorization to Test arrives by email.
  • Results and results reviews: in the same portal.
  • Renewal and PDCs: the society (recertification).

A fact or an answer looks wrong

  1. A fact in a table: follow its footnote. The source list at the end of each page links the document and shows when we read it. If the document now says something different, trust the document; each fact shows the date we last checked it.
  2. A practice answer: compare it with the functional area named on the question card and the current outline or BASK. Every question has passed a second reviewer, but where the outline or the law in force on your exam day says otherwise, those decide.
